LA Dodgers (73-65) at Chi. Cubs (70-67)

The Chicago Cubs host the LA Dodgers tonight at Wrigley Field for game 3. The Cubs have lost the first two games to the Dodgers. The Cubs have been getting terrible pitching in both those games. Carlos Zambrano only lasted 4.1 innings, in their first meeting. In their second game Steve Trachsel lasted 6 innings. What’s up with the Cubs pitching?

Good thing for the Chicago Cubs tonight is that their best pitcher Ted Lilly (LP) (13-7, 3.89 ERA) will be on the mound. Lilly is currently 7-5 at home with an ERA of 4.03. In his last three starts he’s 0-2 with an ERA of 5.29. The Cubs have a home record of 37-35 and are 4-6 in their last 10 games.

Pitching for the LA Dodgers tonight will be reliever Eric Stults (LP) (1-2, 4.23 ERA). He’s currently 0-1 on the road with an ERA of 4.26 and is 1-1 in his last 3 games. The Dodgers are 36-33 on the road and are 7-3 in their last 10 games. One good thing about having a reliever start is that they come out smokin; it’s just a matter of how long he can last. That’s OK though the Dodgers have the bullpen to back it up.

Bottom Line: Now I know that Ted Lilly is the favorite to win tonight but he’s only 4-7 at home. Even though they have a great starter the only other things going for the Cubbies is power and defense. The Dodgers on the other hand have the backup in the bullpen, great hitting and explosive speed.

The Dodgers took both games in Chicago and are feeling pretty good about themselves, let’s see if the Dodgers can steal game 3 away from the Cubs.

New Orleans Saint at Indianapolis Colts

Bet this fight at SBG Global

Teams always play the Super Bowl champs tough. Everyone knows they Champs get a tougher schedule and team always want to prove themselves against the champs. Head to head The Saints have a 5-4 edge in their all-time series with the Colts and everyone will be jacked up to play against the champs for the opening game of the NFL season. No team wants to be blown out and the Saints will keep this game close because Drew can match pass for pass with Manning and he has as many weapons as Manning does.

Bottom Line: New Orleans has cashed 19 of its last 26 on the road against teams with a winning record and 14 of 19 as road dogs of six points or more. The Saints have also 'covered' eight of their last nine road openers. Indianapolis has come up short in nine of its last 13 as favorites in its first home game. The Colts have come away with the cash in six of their last seven when facing playoff teams. Prior Super Bowl champs are just 7-13-1 ATS when making their initial title defense.

The Colts will win this game straight up but take the Saints on the spread
