The Milwaukee Brewers are in Atlanta to play a three game series
against the Atlanta Braves, at Turner Field. These Braves are 5.5
games back from 1st place, NY Mets, in the NL East while the Brewers
are 1 game back from 1st place Chi. Cubs in the NL Central. The
Brewers are hungry for a win to get them to the top of the NL Central.
Tonight’s pitcher for the Atlanta Braves will be reliever
Jeff Bennet (0-0, 0.00 ERA). It seems that Bennet has not thrown
a pitch in the Big Leagues since 2004. In 2004 Bennet had a 2-8
record as a reliever. The Braves have a home record of 41-36 and
are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Taking the mound for the Milwaukee Brewers tonight will be Jeff
Suppan (RP) (10-12, 4.72 ERA). Suppan currently has an away record
of 3-8 with an ERA of 5.44 and is 2-0 in his last 3 starts. The
Brewers are 6-4 in their last 10 games and they have an away record
of 31-46.
Recent Trends
Brewers are 6-1 in their last 7 games following a loss.
Brewers are 4-1 in their last 5 games vs. a right-handed starter.
Brewers are 10-4 in Suppan's last 14 starts as a favorite.
Braves are 5-12 in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a winning
record.
Braves are 2-7 in their last 9 games as an underdog.
Braves are 6-21 in their last 27 games as a home underdog.
Braves are 1-4 in their last 5 Thursday games.
Braves are 1-5 in their last 6 vs. National League Central.
Bottom Line: The Atlanta Braves are starting a
pitcher tonight who hasn’t pitched in the Big Leagues in 3
years, can you say RUSTY? The only thing the Braves bring to the
field tonight is hitting and defense. The Milwaukee Brewers however
bring a pumped up team that is drooling over a chance at top spot
in the NL Central. The Brewers have an experienced pitcher on the
mound and also bring a quality bullpen, speed and power.
Look for the Brewers to tie for first place.

UFC 76 Knock Out
Diego Sanchez vs. Jon Fitch

this fight at SBG Global
The Diego Sanchez versus Jon Fitch fight will be the fight of the
night. In my opinion Diego Sanchez is the best young star in the
UFC. Jon Fitch on the other hand is no joke as he is one well rounded
fighter. Before his loss to Josh Koscheck, Sanchez was ranked as
high as that #2 welterweight in the world. Jon Fitch (14-2) is tough
but he hasn’t fought top level opponents in MMA yet or fought
at the UFC level.
Bottom Line: Fitch has the edge on power and striking
abilities but Sanchez is a better wrestler and grappler. Sanchez
has something to prove after putting on a bad performance in his
last fight.
Diego Sanchez is going into this fight and with something
to prove. Look for a hard fought decision by Sanchez
