The Chicago White Sox host the LA Angels tonight at U.S. Cellular
Field. The Angels are comfortably in 1st place, in the AL West,
with an 8.5 game lead. The White Sox are way at the bottom of the
AL Central with no chance of a post season berth.
Pitching for the Chicago White Sox tonight is Jose Contreras (RP)
(8-16, 5.91 ERA). Contreras is currently 5-7 at home with an ERA
of 6.16 and is 2-0 in his last 3 starts. The Sox have a home record
of 32-40 and are 5-5 in their last 10 starts.
Tonight’s pitcher for the LA Angels is Bartolo Colon (RP)
(6-6, 6.72 ERA). Colon is currently 4-3 on the road with an ERA
of 7.54 and is 0-2 in his last 3 starts. The Angels have an away
record of 37-35 and are 6-4 in their last 10 starts.

Angels are 5-0 in their last 5 during game
1 of a series.
Angels are 6-1 in their last 7 road games vs. a right-handed starter.
Angels are 6-1 in their last 7 road games.
Angels are 9-2 in their last 11 vs. American League Central.
Angels are 12-1 in Colon's last 13 starts as a road favorite of
-110 to -150.
White Sox are 1-4 in their last 5 games following
an off day.
White Sox are 1-4 in their last 5 Friday games.
White Sox are 0-5 in Contreras' last 5 starts as a home underdog
of +110 to +150.
White Sox are 0-4 in Contreras' last 4 Friday starts.
Bottom Line: The White Sox are having an awful
season and their coach has not been silent about it. He knows his
team sucks and they need to fix the once World Series Champion team.
On the other hand the Angels are looking like serious World Series
contenders. They’re getting excellent defense, hitting, power,
speed and they have the bullpen to go deep in the post season. It’s
time for the Rally Monkey.

With so much riding on where each teams will be situated this will
be a tight pitcher’s duel. Neither club will want the game
to get out of control so the first signs of a run by either team
the manager will pull the starting pitchers for some relief. However,
both the Yankees and Red Sox are sending to the mound quality pitchers
tonight that will shut down both sides with Andy Pettitte going
for the Yankees and rookie sensation Dice K Daisuke Matsuzaka going
for the Sox.
However Dice K has not pitched very well lately and he is 1-4 with
a 9.57 ERA in his past four starts. The Yanks lost a close one last
night and will look to rebound after a 9th inning lose to the Jays
last night. The Sox have been on top all year long and have been
on cruise control and have not had to play desperation ball which
might hinder their ability to raise their level while the Yanks
have just gelled the last couple of weeks. The Red Sox have dropped
seven of their last nine against the Yankees and are 7-8 in the
season series
Bottom Line: The Yankees are 5-0 in their last
5 road games. The Yankees are 6-1 in their last 7 vs. a team with
a winning record. The Yankees are 6-2 in their last 8 vs. the American
League East. The Yankees are 19-7 in their last 26 road games vs.
a right-handed starter. The Yankees are 4-10 in their last 14 games
as a road underdog. The Yankees are 4-0 in Pettitte's last 4 road
starts. The Yankees are 38-16 in Pettitte's last 54 starts vs. the
American League East. The Yankees are 3-8 in Pettitte's last 11
starts as an underdog. The Yankees are 15-6 in Pettitte's last 21
starts vs. the Red Sox. The Yankees are 9-4 in the last 13 meetings
in Boston between the two teams.
All stats lead to a Yanks win tonight and the Under.
