No. 4 West Virginia (2-0) at Maryland (2-0)

West Virginia -17

The West Virginia Mountaineers will head to Maryland to play the Maryland Terrapins at Byrd Stadium. The W.V. Mountaineers have won their first two games with a punishing running game and a high scoring offense. QB Patrick White has thrown for a total 341 YDS and 4 TDs, Darius Reynaud seems to be his favorite receiver. He’s got 14 REC for 226 YDS and 2 TDs. RB Steve Slaton’s off to a great start this year , he’s ran for 255 YDS with 5 TDs and received 3 REC for a TD. There are two backup rushers that are also chipping, each combining for a total 6 TDs. Defensively the Mountaineers are OK against the rush but need to improve in passing yards allowed.

The Maryland Terrapins aren’t getting points from QB Jordan Steffy. Even though he’s thrown for 309 YDS, he has yet to throw a TD pass and has been intercepted once. It seems their QB can only get them down the field but can’t finish. RB Keon Lattimore is the go to guy to get into the end zone. He’s rushed for 217 YDS and has 5 TDs. Their backup RB doesn’t see a lot of the field, so it’s all up to Lattimore. Receiver’s Darrius Heyward-Bey and Lance Ball have NOT had a TD catch in both games so far.

Bottom Line: West Virginia’s just too strong in their offense and they have multiple players’ the QB can utilize. The only think going for Maryland is their running game which will be null and void against a 8th ranked rushing yards allowed, Mountaineers.

It’s going to be all West Virginia!

Tampa Bay (61-85) at Seattle (76-68)

Bet this fight at SBG Global

The Tampa Bay Devil Rays make their way into Seattle to play the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field. Can the Mariners finally win a game or a series? Tonight’s pitcher for the Seattle Mariners is Jeff Weaver (RP) (6-12, 6.05 ERA). Weaver is currently 3-5 at home with an ERA of 6.12 and is 0-2 in his last 3 games with an ERA of 10.95. Ouch! The Mariners are 3-7 in their last 10 games and have a home record of 42-29. Seattle is 6.5 games back from a wildcard spot but with their recent slump it’s doubtful that they will make the post season.

Tonight’s starting pitcher for the Devil Rays is Jason Hammel (RP) (2-4, 6.57 ERA). Hammel is currently 2-1 on the road with an ERA of 7.12 and is 1-0 in his last 3 starts. The Devil Rays are 6-4 in their last 10 games and have an away record of 26-45.

Bottom Line: Tonight’s match is going to be an all out hitters brawl. The two pitchers pitching tonight are bad, just look at their ERA’s. In the last 17 meetings, in Seattle, between these two clubs the over/under record is 11-5-1. It’s looking like over’s the best bet to make.
