The West Virginia Mountaineers will head to Maryland to play the
Maryland Terrapins at Byrd Stadium. The W.V. Mountaineers have won
their first two games with a punishing running game and a high scoring
offense. QB Patrick White has thrown for a total 341 YDS and 4 TDs,
Darius Reynaud seems to be his favorite receiver. He’s got
14 REC for 226 YDS and 2 TDs. RB Steve Slaton’s off to a great
start this year , he’s ran for 255 YDS with 5 TDs and received
3 REC for a TD. There are two backup rushers that are also chipping,
each combining for a total 6 TDs. Defensively the Mountaineers are
OK against the rush but need to improve in passing yards allowed.
The Maryland Terrapins aren’t getting points from QB Jordan
Steffy. Even though he’s thrown for 309 YDS, he has yet to
throw a TD pass and has been intercepted once. It seems their QB
can only get them down the field but can’t finish. RB Keon
Lattimore is the go to guy to get into the end zone. He’s
rushed for 217 YDS and has 5 TDs. Their backup RB doesn’t
see a lot of the field, so it’s all up to Lattimore. Receiver’s
Darrius Heyward-Bey and Lance Ball have NOT had a TD catch in both
games so far.
Bottom Line: West Virginia’s just too strong in their offense
and they have multiple players’ the QB can utilize. The only
think going for Maryland is their running game which will be null
and void against a 8th ranked rushing yards allowed, Mountaineers.
It’s going to be all West Virginia!

The Atlanta Braves will turn to John Smoltz on Wednesday in an attempt
to keep their fading playoff hopes alive. Smoltz is 13-7 on the
season with an ERA of 3.02. He will be opposed by John Maine who
is 14-9 and has an ERA of 3.80. Both pitchers are pitcher very well
lately with Smoltz going into the eight inning with a no-hitter
in his last start against Washington. All stats lead to another
pitching due tonight as both teams are in the playoff hunt.
Bottom Line: The Under is 7-1 in the Braves last
8 vs. a team with a winning record. The Over is 5-1-2 in the Braves
last 8 games as a road favorite. The Under is 6-2 in the Braves
last 8 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Under is 4-0 in the
Mets last 4 vs. the National League East. The Under is 4-0 in the
Mets last 4 games vs. a right-handed starter. The Under is 6-1 in
the Mets last 7 home games. The Under is 4-1 in the Mets last 5
overall.
Under Under Under as neither team can score points lately
