The Toronto Maple Leafs will host the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at the Air Canada Center.The Carolina Hurricanes bring in a team this year with great defense and power play skills. C Eric Staal recently recorded two goals against the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 4-1 victory. In their last game against the Washington Capitals, the Canes looked flat for the first two periods and recorded a 0-2 loss. They seem to be in between goalies. G Cam Ward played in the first two games, with a 2-3 OT loss to Montreal, then a 4-1 victory over Pittsburgh. It’s not known why coach played G John Grahame, who lost 4-1 to Washington, but it might return to bite him in the ass. The Canes have some valuable players currently listed as day to day. D Mike Commodore, D Bret Hedican and F Cory Stillman will have to wait for game time.

The Toronto Maple Leafs, LW Jason Blake, has made an announcement that he has cancer. He has been key to the Leafs and might not be available for tonight’s game. His last game against Montreal he logged over 20 minutes on the ice and has the most shots on net of any Leaf. The Leafs are currently ranked 3rd in shots on net and they’re averaging 3 goals a game. Net minder Vesa Toskala is working out well as Toronto’s new goalie, he’s recorded 1 win with a 2.95 GAA. Top player C Mat Sundin is the star for the Leafs so far with 1 goal and 5 assists. The Leafs lost their first two games, to their arch nemesis, the Ottawa Senators.

TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS Over Carolina Hurricanes at Air Canada Centre. Hurricanes coming off 1st Road loss Sat @ WASH, where they were shut out by Olie Kolzig & Co. On the flip side, the Leafs are coming off a Home win Sat over rival Canadiens.
