Houston (0-0) at L.A. Lakers (0-0)

Bet this NBA game at Sportsbook.com

The 2007 NBA season gets under way tonight with the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Houston Rockets, at the Staples Center.
The Houston Rockets made some changes to their starting lineup and their coaching staff. Coach Jeff Van Gundy was fired and Rick Adelman is in. The Rockets will miss Juan Howard, but with the additions of power forward Luis Scola, veteran point guard Mike James and Steve Francis, Houston is expected to be playoff contenders. Coach will play a nine man roster that won’t include Steve Francis, as of yet. Chuch Hayes and Luis Scola will split duties as power forward. Yoa Ming’s back after averaging 25 points, 9 rebounds and shooting 51% from the line. Tracy McGrady returns with 24 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Together they were one of the highest scoring tandems in basketball. The starting lineup for the Rockets is, G Rafer Alston, G Tracy McGrady, F Chuck Hayes, F Shane Battier and C Yoa Ming.

The L.A. Lakers may be in trouble right off the start of the season. Lamar Odom will miss tonight’s game after having surgery on his shoulder in May, and Kwame Brown is doubtful for tonight as well. Odam was the second highest scorer for the Lakers last year. The best move for the Lakers is the return of Derek Fisher, who was with the team through three straight championships. The starting lineup for the Lakers will be, G Jordan Farmer, G Kobe Bryant, F Luke Walton, C Andrew Bynum, and F Chris Mihm. The Lakers have started their season three times at home against the Rockets, and the Lakers are up 2-1.

Bottom Line: The Rockets have opted for a offensive style of play under their new coach. Last year’s coach was more of a defensive style of play. The Lakers won’t be starting their expected five and therefore will be rusty. The Rockets will come out strong showing off their new team.

Look for the Rockets to get the win!

Phoenix Coyotes at St Louis Blues

Bet this NHL Game at Bodog Life

Phoenix comes into tonight's game with a 3-6 record, having lost 5 in a row carrying the lowest point total in the league at 6 tied for last with the Thrashers. On the flip side, the Blues come in with a 6-3 record, including a 4-1 record at the Scott Trade Center where they are allowing 3 or less goals per game. Clearly, the Blues are the better team here, but the Coyotes did defeat St Louis 3-2 in Phoenix back on Oct 4th, and I see them doing enough offensively tonight to get this game easily OVER the Total. Not many bright spots for the Coyotes this year. They are struggling to get offensive production. However, Coyotes forward Shane Doan has 9 goals and 17 assists in his last 21 games vs Blues. So, maybe a game vs the Blues is good medicine to get the offense going for Gretzky's club tonight. St Louis Coach Andy Murray has done a nice job early on in the 07-08 campaign. For the Blues of late, it has been the line of Boyes-Kariya & Tkachuk who have spear headed their offensive attack.

Bottom Line: That line has produced 14 goals already this season. Boyes is red hot of late having posted his 3rd multi-goal game Saturday night vs Washington. The key matchup to watch tonight will be between the two goalies.Blues Goalie Manny Legace is 0-3-1 with a 3.97 GAA(Goals Against Average) in 4 career starts vs the Coyotes. Coyotes goalie tonight will be Mikael Tellqvist, he has a 1-2 record overall with a 3.35 GAA. Tellqvist is 2-0 with a 2.48 GAA in his career vs St Louis. In the end, this all adds up to a nice OVER in Missouri tonight!

Final: St Louis 5 Phoenix 3
