The National League Divisional Series gets underway tonight with
the Arizona Diamondbacks hosting the Chicago Cubs, at Chase Field.
Both teams are bringing their best ace pitchers to the mound tonight.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will start pitcher Brandon Webb (RP) (18-10,
3.01 ERA). Webb is the D-Backs best starting hurler and is the reigning
CY Young Award winner who pitched 42 scoreless innings earlier in
the season. He’s gone 10-2 since the All-Star break. His regular
season home record is 8-5 with a 2.88 ERA and is 2-0 in his last
3 starts with an ERA of 3.26. Arizona is currently 5-5 in their
last 10 games going into the playoffs. The D-Backs bring a team
with a superb starter and players with speed.
The Chicago Cubs will start pitcher Carlos Zambrano (RP) (18-13,
3.95 ERA). Zambrano’s regular season road record is 12-4 with
an ERA of 3.06 and is currently 2-1 in his last 3 starts with an
ERA of 1.96. The Diamondbacks may be in for a surprise as they’ve
never hit against Zambrano all season. The Cubs are currently 6-4
in their last 10 games, heading into the playoffs. The Cubbies bring
in a team with excellent hitting, power and defense backed up with
a great bullpen.
Recent Trends
Under is 10-1-1 in Zambrano's last 12 road starts.
Under is 8-1-1 in Zambrano's last 10 road starts with the total
set at 7.0-8.5.
Under is 5-1-1 in Zambrano's last 7 starts with the total set at
7.0-8.5.
Under is 5-1 in Diamondbacks last 6 Divisional Playoff home games.
Under is 4-1 in Diamondbacks last 5 overall.
Under is 9-1-1 in Webb's last 11 home starts.
Bottom Line: Tonight’s game is going to
be a pitchers duo which is going to showcase two of the best pitchers
in baseball. Zambrano needs to keep his emotions in check and not
get to excited, just pitch your game. He’s hasn’t allowed
a run in his last two starts. Webb’s going to be relaxed playing
at home and he’ll do what comes naturally.
To close to pick a winner so I’m suggesting UNDER
7.5.

I'm glad for Brett Farve who did not listen to the many individuals
who thought he was washed up. The Packers are 4 and 0 to start off
this NFL football season and will go 5 and 0 after this Sunday after
the y beat the Bears. The Bears are not the team most people thought
they were. Everyone knew they did not have a great offenses but
most people thought they had a great defense. Well they don't. This
year they lost Tank "Guns" Johnson and their defense ranks
15th in the league. Coupled with an offense that can't score, the
Packers and their fans will have a field day with them. The Bears
only offense is special teams and Devon Nestor
Brett Farve looks like he is 25 again and is reading defenses and
making plays. At Lambeau Field the Bears are the most hated team
in the league the resurgence of the Packers has put them on the
NFL map. Many of the book still are not giving the Packers their
due and a 3 point spread it a good spread on a team many odds makers
are still doubtful about.
Bottom Line: Green Bay is 5-0 SU in its last 5
games and Green Bay is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games. The Packers
are 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home and 19-6 SU in its last 25
games when playing Chicago.
