The Denver Broncos will host the troubled San Diego Chargers this
weekend at Mile High Stadium. The San Diego Chargers aren’t
the same team they were in the 06’ season. The Chargers released
their head coach Marty Schottenheimer, after a 14-2 season, and
picked up Norv Turner. The Chargers look confused under Turners
command and they’ve lost three in a row. After the Kansas
City Chiefs rallied for 24 unanswered points last week fans have
had enough. The Chargers had four chances from the Chiefs 5 yard
line and QB Phillip Rivers threw four straight incomplete passes.
QB Rivers (21-42, 211YDS, 2INT, 1FUM, 0TD) gave up 17 points due
to his interceptions and fumble. RB L.Tomlinson (262YDS, 2TD) was
the best performer for the Chargers.
The Denver Broncos played a tough fought game last week against
the Colts but couldn’t get a win. The Broncos were also dealt
a blow with the injury to RB Travis Henry and WR Javon Walker. Results
won’t be available until Wednesday. QB Jay Cutler matched
the Colts almost point for point going into the second half. Denver’s
offense racked up 354 yards, with 223 on the ground, for their best
performance of the year. The Broncos defense allowed 226 yards rushing
and must improve against RB L.Thompson. The Broncos are ranked 12th
in rushing yards allowed.
Bottom Line: The Broncos did well against the Colts and a tough
Jaguars team, but despite the losses Denver still looks good. QB
Jay Cutler is averaging 227 pass yards while the Broncos rushing
game is ranked 5th with an average 155 yards. The Chargers running
game is averaging only 83 yards which will be tough against the
Broncos defense.
We’ll have to wait and see if injuries will play a
big factor in this game but I still like Denver’s chances
at home.

I'm glad for Brett Farve who did not listen to the many individuals
who thought he was washed up. The Packers are 4 and 0 to start off
this NFL football season and will go 5 and 0 after this Sunday after
the y beat the Bears. The Bears are not the team most people thought
they were. Everyone knew they did not have a great offenses but
most people thought they had a great defense. Well they don't. This
year they lost Tank "Guns" Johnson and their defense ranks
15th in the league. Coupled with an offense that can't score, the
Packers and their fans will have a field day with them. The Bears
only offense is special teams and Devon Nestor
Brett Farve looks like he is 25 again and is reading defenses and
making plays. At Lambeau Field the Bears are the most hated team
in the league the resurgence of the Packers has put them on the
NFL map. Many of the book still are not giving the Packers their
due and a 3 point spread it a good spread on a team many odds makers
are still doubtful about.
Bottom Line: Green Bay is 5-0 SU in its last 5
games and Green Bay is 5-0 ATS in its last 5 games. The Packers
are 4-1 SU in its last 5 games at home and 19-6 SU in its last 25
games when playing Chicago.
