The Pittsburgh Penguins host the New Jersey Devils tonight at the
Melon Arena. The Penguins beat the Toronto Maple Leafs, 6-4, in
their last game while the Devils beat the Atlanta Thrashers, 6-5.
The Pittsburgh Penguins came out firing on all cylinders against
the Leafs last week. Sid the Kid recorded 2 goals, as well as Maxime
Talbot. The Pens came out hard riffling shots on net in the first
period; in fact they outshot the Leafs 19-6 in the first. By the
time everything was said and done the Pens had outshot the Leafs
52-27. Winning goalie Marc-Andre Fleury held off the Leafs in the
third and he currently has a 3.25 GAA. Evgeni Malkin leads the Pens
with 5 points while Peter Sykora leads with 15 shots on net. The
Pens offense is ranked in the Top 10 in goals and shots. Their defense
is something that will need work due to a mostly younger inexperienced
crew.
The New Jersey Devils scored 3 goals in the third period to get
the win over the Atlanta Thrashers. The Devils were firing pucks
at the net like crazy, in the first and third periods, the Devils
outshot the Thrashers 24-7. Patrick Elias scored 2 goals with help
from his power play unit. Zach Parise leads the Devils with 6 points.
Goaltender Martin Brodeur has a surprising 1-3 start with a 3.25
GAA. The Devils power play is currently ranked fourth in the NHL.
Bottom Line: The Pittsburgh Penguins don’t
have the defense to stop the Devils offense while the Pens don’t
have the offense to get by one of the best defenses in the NHL.
The Devils like to play the trap which is hard to get past. The
Pens goaltending situation is shaky at times and it will be interesting
to see which Fleury will show up.
The Devils should take this one!

Jorge Gurgel vs Alvin Robinson
Robinson +155
Bet
this UFC Fight at Sportsbook.com
Wow Jorge Gurgel is a -175 favorite versus Alvin Robinson but in
reality he is only on this UFC because he is Rich Franklin’s
friend and rating partner and he is from Cincinnati. Gurgel is Franklin’s
training partner and his BJJ instructor. Well we know how good Franklin’s
BJJ is (non-existent) and Gurgel couldn’t even make it out
of the Reality show which shows skills skill as an MMA fighter.
Jorge’s BJJ skills are way overrated and Alvin Robinson is
a pressing fighter that has great BJJ skills under Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu
under Royce Gracie.
Bottom Line: Gurgel is not a great fighter and
his skills on the ground are way overhyped.
Take Robinson in a +155 upset
