Game 4 of the American League Championships get underway tonight
between the Cleveland Indians hosting the Boston Red Sox, at Jacobs
Field. The Indians won game 3 yesterday 4-2 to put the Indians up
2-1 in the ALCS. Tonight’s pitcher for the Boston Red Sox
will be Tim Wakefield (RP) (17-12, 4.76 ERA). Wakefield has been
on the DL List since the beginning of October due to back injuries.
Wakefield currently has a road record of 7-8 with an ERA of 4.26
and is 1-2 in his last 3 starts with an ERA of 5.50. The Red Sox
have not been getting offense from other teammates besides Manny
Ramirez and David Ortiz.
Pitching for the Cleveland Indians tonight will be Paul Byrd (RP)
(15-8, 4.59 ERA). Byrd has a home record of 8-4 with an ERA of 5.68.
In his first playoff pitching experience Byrd pitched 5 innings,
allowed 8 hits and 2 runs for a 3.60 ERA to get the win over the
Yankees. The Indians are winning all over the field. Their defense
has been solid as well as their batters. Kenny Lofton’s has
been the hero for the Indians by coming through in the clutch knocking
in RBIs.
Bottom Line: Boston’s pitcher Tim Wakefield
has lots of playoff experience under his belt but has not pitched
in 3 weeks. In September, Wakefield was shotty going 1-2 with an
8.76 ERA in five starts. Indians pitcher Paul Byrd, on the other
hand, was amazing against the Yankees and shut down the most devastating
offense in baseball. Cleveland is getting hits from multiple players
while the Red Sox only have the 1-2 punch of Ramirez and Ortiz.
Cleveland’s looking good enough to go 3-1.
Go Cleveland!

this NHL game at Bodog Life
This matchup tonight sets up nicely for the Avalanche as they have
won all 3 HOME games to this point. The Flames come in with 2 straight
road wins. They had an impressive performance in Nashville on Saturday
night and won going away. However, the Flames should "Flame
out" and get cooled off by perhaps the best HOME team in the
NHL tonight at the Pepsi Center. Avalanche have outscored their
opponents 15-6 in the 3 home games they have played this year, and
are seeking their 1st back to back wins this season to boot!.
Botton Line: I don't see any reason why that good
home cooking does not continue this evening! FYI-Last year the Avalanche
took the final 4 meetings between the 2 teams and won 3 out of 4
at the Pepsi Center.
I think i'll back the home team and I highly reccomend
that you do the same. Final Colorado 6 Flames 2
