The Arizona Diamondbacks host the Colorado Rockies in game 2 of
the National League Championships tonight. The Rockies took game
1 yesterday, 5-1, giving Jeff Francis his second playoff win. The
D-Backs pitcher, Brandon Webb, was shaky at the start allowing 4
runs in 3 innings.
The Arizona Diamondbacks will start pitcher Doug Davis (LP) (13-12,
4.25 ERA). Davis pitched against the Chicago Cubs for an 8-4 win
at home. He pitched 5.2 innings, allowed 5 hits and 4 runs for a
6.35 ERA. During the regular season Davis had a home record of 9-3
with an ERA of 4.84. Chris Young leads the D-Backs with 32 homers
and Eric Byrnes has the best batting average of .286.
Pitching for the Colorado Rockies tonight will be Ubaldo Jimenez
(RP) (4-4, 4.28 ERA). Jimenez was starting pitcher against the Philadelphia
Phillies and recorded a 2-1 win. He pitched 6.1 innings, allowed
3 hits and 1 run for an ERA of 1.42. During the regular season Jimenez
had a road record of 1-1 with an ERA of 5.01. Matt Holliday leads
the Rockies with 36 homers and a .340 batting average.
Bottom Line: The Rockies will get great pitching
from Jimenez, while the D-Backs pitcher may struggle a bit, regardless
of the pitchers both teams posses excellent defense. The Rockies
have hitters that are capable of placing the ball anywhere on the
field, which is one of the reasons why there 18-19.
There will be runs scored but not over 9. Tonight’s
run total will be UNDER 9!

this fight at SBG Global
This is 1st meeting between these teams since January 2006. Both
teams have struggled offensively early on in the season. The Kings
are struggling w their Power Play this year which is 1 for 15 w
a Man Advantage since their trip to London almost 2 weeks ago. That
was also the last time they won as well! On the flip side, the Bruins
have been struggling themselves averaging only a goal per game.
However, they are playing good defense, and have done well in their
PP kills. They held the defending Stanley Cup Champs to 2 goals
the other night, but could not muster more than a goal themselves.
Bruins were missing foward Mac Savard, their leading scorer from
last year vs Anaheim Wed night. He will back in the lineup for this
one tonight at the Staples Center. That good news can only help
an already struggling Offense!
Botton Line: Bruins will win on the road here
before they head back to Beantown for their Home Opener!
Final: Boston 4 LA 2
