The struggling Toronto Maple Leafs will host the NY Islanders tonight at the Air Canada Center. The Leafs were hammered by the Carolina Hurricanes, 7-1, while the Islanders beat the NY Rangers 2-1.The Toronto Maple Leafs are off and floundering in the 07’ season. Goaltender Vesa Toskala doesn’t seem to be the answer for their goalie problems. In three games he’s got a 4.33 GAA with a .865 save percentage. Captain Mats Sundin leads the team with 7 points and Jason Blake leads with 17 shots on net. As it stands now the Leafs have nothing to look forward to.

The NY Islanders are a very offensive team this year with everything you want in a hockey team. They’ve got great offense and defense, an excellent power play, along with superb penalty killing. Goalie Rick DiPietro has three wins with a 2.26 GAA. The top producers for the Isle’s are Mike Comerie, Bill Guerin and Ruslan Fedotenko. They’re firing on all cylinders right now.

Bottom Line: The Islanders have too much offense to go up against the Leafs defense. The Islanders have a hot goalie up against a struggling Toskala, along with the Leafs not being able to score goals.

With Nashville coming in off disappointing road loss at St. Louis last night, Ilook for them to rebound strong this evening against a mediocre Coyotes club who is still looking for 1st win of the 07 campaign.

Botton Line: Both teams are struggling offensively early on this year, but i see enough offense from both to get this game way Over the Total tonight in Nashville!
