It’s make or break time for the San Diego Padres and Colorado
Rockies tonight. The Padres will play their 163rd game tonight against
the Colorado Rockies, at Coors Field, for a chance at a Wild Card
berth. Tonight’s pitcher for the San Diego Padres will be
CY Young candidate Jason Peavy (RP) (19-6, 2.36). Peavy is currently
10-1 on the road with an ERA of 2.16 and is 2-0 in his last 3 starts
with an ERA of 1.69. The Padres are 42-39 on the road and are 4-6
in their last 10 starts. The Padres are 9-10 against the Rockies
and are 4-5 when playing at Coors Field.
Pitching for the Colorado Rockies tonight will be J osh Fogg (RP)
(10-9, 4.79 ERA). Fogg is currently 5-4 at home with an ERA of 5.66
and is 1-0 in his last 3 starts with an ERA of 3.78. The Rockies
are 50-31 at home and are 9-1 in their last 10 starts. They were
6.5 games back since Sept 16th and are ripping up the NL West to
get a chance at the playoffs. The Rockies have not been to the playoffs
since 1995.
Recent Trends
Padres are 5-1 in Peavy's last 6 starts with 4 days of rest.
Padres are 13-3 in Peavy's last 16 starts vs. National League West.
Padres are 10-3 in Peavy's last 13 starts.
Rockies are 6-0 in Fogg's last 6 starts as a home underdog.
Rockies are 4-0 in Fogg's last 4 starts as an underdog.
Rockies are 4-0 in Fogg's last 4 starts vs. National League West.
Bottom Line: It’s going to come down to the
Padres pitcher J.Peavy if they want the Wild Card spot in the NL
Division. The Rockies pitcher J.Fogg has never been in a situation
this intense and either have many of their players, but there’s
always a first time for everything. The Rockies are the hottest
team in baseball right now; they’re on an 11 game winning
streak. It’s going to be an interesting game tonight that
should showcase Peavy’s talent.
Have faith in Peavy!

With these two offenses going head to head they Over might be inthe
60's or 70's in front of the corwd in Cincinnati tonight.
QB Tom Brady already has 10 TD passes on the year, and
that numbers certain to go up tonight when he looks to dissect a
Bengals defense that’s allowing opponents to score a tad under
32 PPG. New England is No. 1 in total offensive yards gained and
second in scoring with an average of 38 points per game (PPG).
The Patriots are also ranked third in passing and fourth in rushing.
The Patriots defense will be facing its stiffest challenge of the
season against the Bengals. Chad Johnson (the NFL's receiving yardage
leader) and T.J. Houshmandzadeh (the NFL's reception leader) may
be the best combination of wide receivers in the NFL. Cincinnati
ranks No. 5 in total offense (393), is second in passing (301) and
tied for fourth in points scored. Quarterback Carson Palmer has
one less touchdown pass (nine) than Brady and thrown for more passing
yards (937-887).
Bottom Line: The total has gone OVER in 4 of Cincinnati's
last 5 games when playing New England. What more can you say.
Moss, Johnson, Houshmandzadeh. Those are the names you
will hear tonight over and over again.
