The Detroit Pistons will host the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight, at The Palace of Auburn, for some slammin NBA action.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are riding a four game win streak with their most recent impressive, 109-104 (OT) win over the Boston Celtics. LeBron James had a huge night contributing 38pts, 13ast and 4reb. He’s averaging 31PPG, 8APG and 8RPG. Drew Gooden was next in line with 24pts on the night. Gooden and Zydrunas Ilgauskas were rebounding animals on offense and defense; between the both of them they had 27reb on the night. The Cavs are currently ranked in the top ten in 3-pointers and rebounds. They average 102PPG with most of their points coming from inside the paint. From the free throw line they’re shooting 70%. Defensively the Cavs need some work. They allow 102PPG (#25) with the majority of the scoring coming from inside the paint. They do however excel at defensive rebounding and shutting down the 3-pointers. The top producer for the Cavs is LeBron James and Zydrunas Ilgauskas leads in rebounds, FG% and blocks. The Cavs are currently one game behind the Detroit Pistons for top spot in the Central Standings. They’re 5-3 when playing on the road and (7-8 ATS, 2-5H, 5-3A).
The Detroit Pistons are dying to stay ahead of the Cavs, but after their recent, 93-103, loss to the Utah Jazz, the Cavs may take it tonight. The Pistons had a low 28pts in the paint and they only had 4pts off the fast break. No one player had over 20pts. The Pistons are averaging 97PPG where the majority of their points coming from the paint and the 3-point line. They do very well at defense. They allow a low 94PPG, they’re ranked 6th at stopping their opponents in the paint and 9th at stopping the 3-pointer. Defensive rebounding is their biggest problem, giving up 29RPG. The top producer for the Cavs is Chauncey Billups with 17PPG, 8APG and 2SPG. The Pistons are currently 4-1 at home and if they want to stay on top of the Central Standings, they’ve got to beat the Cavs who are one game behind. The Cavs are (5-8 ATS, 2-3H, 3-5A).
Bottom Line: The Cavs won an impressive game over the top team Celtics last night and their PUMPED UP! The Pistons are nowhere near the talent of the Celtics. The Cavs will come out hard and the Pistons defense is going to have a hard time stopping LeBron James.
Cavs take top spot in Central Standings!

Nevada -4½
Bet on the College basketball game at Bodog Life
The Wolfpack (2-2) have lost all-american forward Nick Fazekas, but they still have a nice array of talent led by 6'5 senior guard Marcelus Kemp who comes in averaging 16 PPG, and 6'3 freshman guard Armon Johnson averaging 12 PPG. They have very good size inside as well led by 6'11 sophmore forward Javale McGee averaging 13 Points and 7 Rebounds a game. They are well coached by Mark Fox, who stresses good half court man to man defense, sharing the ball and creating high percentage shots on the offensive side. Nevada comes in off disapointing performance at UNLV saturday night ,so some nice home cooking at the Lawlor Events Center is a nice remedy for a bounceback performance this evening. Cal comes in 3-0, but when you look inside their resume, they beat S Miss. Nicholls St. and a now depleted Sd St. squad. Nevada has definatley played a much tougher schedule early on(C Fla, Cal-Irvine,Santa Clara & Unlv) ;which will only help them as the season progresses.
Bottom Line: All three of Cal's wins were in Berkley. They now venture out for their first road game at a tough building to win. Ben Braun has a nice array of young talent at Cal led by sophmore guards Patrick Christopher and Jerome Randle each averaging 21 PPG. Inside, they are led by sophmore forward Ryan Anderson averaging 20 points and 8 rebounds per game, and senior center Devon Hardin averaging 8 points and 14 boards per game. This won't be a cakewalk for for the Wolfpack, but they will come away with a nice home win! FYI-Nevada is 19-6 ATS in November games since 1997.
Cyclones get the money tonight!
Final: Nevada 77 Cal 67
