The Vancouver Canucks will head into Oil Country to take on the Edmonton Oilers, at the Rexall Center, for some NHL action.
The Vancouver Canucks have been scoring goals lately and they’ll want to keep the puck rollin tonight. In their last two games the Canucks have outscored their opponents 10-3. They’re getting goals from multiple players, which is key to any team’s success. The Sedins, Linden, Ohlund (2), Bourdon, Pyatt, Naslund, Isbister and Mitchell have all contributed a goal, not to mention assists as well. The Canucks have been playing without two of their best defensemen and tonight Mattias Ohlund will be serving a four game suspension for a two handed slash on Mikko Koivu. The Nucks have won 5 out of their last 6 games. They get most of their goals on the power play and they average 2.7 goals a game. Goalie Roberto Luongo is 9-8-1 for a 2.42 GAA and a .914 SVPCT. He does much better when his teammates score the first couple goals. The top producer for the Canucks is Daniel Sedin with 19pts and Markus Naslund leads with 52 shots on net. Nazzy has been looking good of late and we’ll see how he does tonight. The Canucks are 6-2 on the road and they sit in 3rd place in the Northwest Standings.
The Edmonton Oilers are coming of back to back home losses. Their most recent loss was to the Calgary Flames 1-3. The only goal scorer was Andrew Cogliano. The Oilers are losing the battle on offense and defense. They average two goals a game and they have one of the worst power plays in the league. Their defense is unable to block shots and they’re ranked 14th on the penalty kill. Their goalie situation has improved after Dwayne Roloson was pulled for Mathieu Garon who is 4-3 with a 2.50 GAA and a .911 SVPCT. The last time Garon faced the Canucks he was outstanding. The go to guy for the Oilers is Shawn Horcoff with 16pts and Raffi Torres leads with 63 shots on net. The Oilers a currently 3-6 at home and they sit in last place in the Northwest Standings.

Bet on the College basketball at Bodog Life
Stu Morrill and his club head back home to Logan tonight after a 2 game road trip that saw them suffer defeats at Cal Poly-Slo & Cal-Irvine. The aggies are led by 4 upperclassmen in guards Jaycee Carroll & Kris Clark, and forwards Stepen Ducharme & Gary Wilkinson. Carroll, the team captain, averages 21.2 per game. He can dish out assists & light it up from 3-point land. Aggie have always been a strong side at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum under head coach Stu Morrill, and coming off 2 bad road losses, a little home cooking is the right remedy to get things turned around. The Austin Peay Governors, out of the Ohio Valley Conference, come in off a road loss at Vanderbilt and a home win over Belmont. They are led by guards Todd Babington & Wes Channels, and forwards Fernandez Lockett & Drake Reed.
Bottom Line: It will be a tough assignment tonight at a very tough home cou rt in logan. They did show decently at Vanderbilt two weeks ago, losing by 14. Tonight's game will be competitive, but the home team will prevail in the end. Jaycee & Co get a much needed victory!
Final: Utah State 79 Austin Peay 70

Bet on the NBA at Bodog Life
After a nice win by the Pacers over the Jazz they host the Lakers. The Lakers have lost their last three games at Indiana. The home crowd will be the deciding factor. Kobe and crew have played much better than people expected. They are not as good a team as they have been playing and the Pacers will be able to expose some of the Lakers weaknesses
Bottom Line: The Lakers are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. the Central. The Lakers are 1-9 ATS in their last 10 Tuesday games. The Lakers are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings in Indiana.. The home team is 8-0 ATS in the last 8 meetings between the two teams
The Pacers look good and will beat the spread by the LA tonight
