The Edmonton Oilers will welcome the Nashville Predators, to the Rexall Place, for some hard hitting NHL action.
The Nashville Predators are coming off a recent win in Vancouver, in which they shut’em out 3-0. The Preds got goals from Ryan Suter, Jerred Smithson and Jason Arnott. They’ve greatly improved on their defense, offense and their bread and butter, their power play. Their offense is scoring an average of 2.5 goals, but with the superb goaltending from Dan Ellis, it’s no wonder why they’re winning. Dan Ellis is 3-0 with a 1.44 GAA, and a .947% rating. He’s also recorded 2 shutouts so far. The main man for the Preds is David Legwand, who’s got 11 points and he’s put the most shots on net, 41. Top goal producers are Jason Arnott, David Legwand and Radek Bonk all with 4 goals. The Preds are 1-5 on the road and they’re currently at the bottom of the Central Standings.

The Edmonton Oilers don’t have much in the way of game, besides a decent penalty kill and a good face off percentage. They’re averaging 2.4 goals a game and they seem to have troubles putting the puck on net. While they have problems scoring, their opponents don’t. Goalie Dwayne Rollson is 3-7 with a 2.99 GAA and a .897% save percentage. The main man for the Oilers is Shawn Horcoff with 11 points, and Raffi Torres leads with 40 shots on net. Other producers for the Oil are Ales Hemsky and Andrew Cogliano with 3 goals apiece. The Oilers are currently 3-3 at home and they stand tied at the bottom of the Northwest Standings.

Bottom Line: The Predators are coming off a good win in Vancouver, thanks in part to great goaltending from Dan Ellis.

With a hot keeper and the Oilers inability to score, let’s see if the Preds can better their road record. Let’s go Predators!

Nashville in the midst of a Canadien road swing are on a back to backer tonite in Oiler country for a battle of Western Conference cellar dwellers. Predators looked good last night grabbing their 1st road victory of the season, or better said, the Canucks looked bloody awful! That's another story for another day.....I digress, the Oilers are coming in off a respectable 2-1 home loss to the red hot Red Wings Wed nite. They have played pretty good at home thus far this year with a win over Flyers, and two shootout wins over the Sharks and Wild. They seem to be playing better of late as a TEAM, with an impressive shootout win at Anaheim earlier in the week.

Bottom Line: They have also gotten an emotional boost in recent days with the return of Fernando Pissani to the practrice ice after battling a severe case of colitis, and news that free agent signe e Sheldon Souray is close to returning as well. This game for me comes down to this, certain teams just cannot be trusted on the road in the NHL this year, and the Predators are at the top of that list in the early stages of the 07-08 season! You should not trust them either!

Final: Oilers 4 Predators 2
