The Anaheim Ducks play host to the Colorado Avalanche, at the Pond, for some hard hitting NHL action. The Colorado Avalanche will be looking for their fourth win in a row tonight after recently beating the L.A. Kings, 4-2 on the road. The Avs got the jump on the Kings early with three first period goals from Ryan Smith, Jaroslav Hlinka and Paul Stasny. They currently have six wins in their last ten games. The Avs have the seventh best offense averaging 3 GAG, but their power play is incredibly poor for all the talent they have. The Avs goalie situation has been on and off lately. Peter Budaj is 12-6 with a 2.50 GAA and a .898 SVPCT. Backup Jose Theodore is struggling with a 7-7-1 record for a 2.50 GAA and a .886 SVPCT. Their penalty kill has been playing averagely lately. The top producer for the Avs is Paul Stasny with 41pts and a +16 rating. Ryan Smith has gelled nicely with the Avs as he has 11 GLS and 17 AST. The Avs are currently 6-10-1 on the road and they sit in third spot in the Northwest Standings. They are (16-17 ATS, 15-17 O/U).
The Anaheim Ducks got their first win after three straight losses. They shut out the S.J. Sharks 2-0 on the road and the Ducks now have four wins in their last ten games. They’re complaining that they are being penalized for no reason lately, as they are the #1 penalized team in the league. Chris Pronger, the most hated player in the league, leads his team with 87 penalty minutes. This is good news to teams with good power plays but bad news for the Ducks, as their penalty kill is ranked 22nd in the league. Their offense and power play are awful and ranked high in the twenties. They do however have the second best faceoff wins which is key when facing off deep in their opponents zone. Their goalie Jean-Sebastien Giguere has not been the star goalie he was last year as he is 13-10-3 with a 2.50 GAA. Their top producer is Ryan Getzlaf with 37pts and a +10 rating. The Ducks are currently 9-6-1-3 at home and they sit in 3rd place in the Pacific Standings. They are (14-22 ATS, 13-19 O/U)
Bottom Line: The Ducks are way over penalized, which will be great for the Avs sharp shooters. The Ducks are very frustrated and the Avs are on fire. Paul Stasny is one of the hottest players in the league right now going up against a struggling goalie.
Look for the Avs to stuff the Ducks!

Celtics -6
Bet on NBA Basketball at Bodog Life
The two best teams in the Eastern Conference meet on Wednesday night as the Boston Celtics host the Detroit Pistons. The Celtics have owned the league and will be looking for their 10th straight win. All that can be said is with Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce.Don tlook at prior head to head stats in this game as Boston has lost their last eight games against Detroit and 13 of the last 14. The difference now is that Boston has a real team. This is a differnet year with a different team. Not only are they offensively gifted but they are also doing it with defense as they lead the league in scoring defense and opponents' field goal percentage. This is key to point spread bettors.
Bottom Line: The Celtics are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 vs. the Eastern Conference. The Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite. The Celtics are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Celtics are 9-3 ATS in their last 12 games as a home favorite.
The east already looks like it will be owned by the Celtics this year
