It’ll be a battle between the two best goalies tonight when the Vancouver Canucks host the New Jersey Devils, at G.M. Place.
The Vancouver Canucks finally have their super star goalie, Roberto Luongo, back tonight after he sat out three games with sore ribs. The Canucks are back home after a four game road trip that saw them win one game, against the Ducks. Their most recent loss was to the Edmonton Oilers 1-2 (SO). They have five wins in ten games and they’ll be hoping for back to back wins at home. The Canucks are averaging 2.6 GPG and their power play has been average lately. They have the 4th best goals against average thanks mostly to Roberto Luongo’s excellent puck stopping skills. He’s currently 13-10-3 with a 2.12 GAA and 4 SHO. The Canucks are average at the penalty kill and they’ll have to stay out of the penalty box if they want to win tonight. Marcus Naslund is questionable tonight due to the flu. The top producer for the Canucks is Daniel Sedin with 29pts and defenseman Alex Elder is hot with a +11 rating. The Canucks are 7-6-2 at home and they sit in 3rd place in the Northwest Standings. The Canucks are (20-13 ATS, 12-14 O/U).
The New Jersey Devils have seven wins in ten games after their most recent, 4-2, home win over the Philadelphia Flyers. John Madden had a pair of goals and Aaron Asham, Jamie Langenbrunner each contributed a goal. The Devils offense is ranked in the low twenties in every statistical category, but winning seven of ten pretty much throws those stats out the window. Defense is where the Devils shine, which can make for a very boring game. They allow 2.6 GPG but with Martin Brodeur in net anything can happen. Brodeur is 16-11-2 with a 2.26 GAA and 2 SHO. Strangely enough their penalty kill is below average. The Devils top producer is Zach Parise with 35pts and leads in shots on net and a +8 rating. The Devils are currently 9-7-2-1 on the road and they sit on top of the Atlantic Standings. They are (20-13 ATS, 12-14 O/U).
Bottom Line: If the Devils opt to use the trap were in for a long boring game. Two of the best goalies are expected to stop everything so look for a low scoring game. The Canucks are plagued with injuries but their new fill in players have worked out nicely.
The Canucks should take this game!

The Jayhawks are a traditional powerhouse college basketball team and the way they have been playing they look unstoppable. There is little doubt they won’t win tonight's matchup with the Yellow Jackets but will they beat the spread. The answer is yes. The Jayhawks are firing on all cylinders with Four Jayhawks scored in double figures against Ohio led by Mario Chalmers who had 17 points. The Jayhawks have won 24 of their last 25 games and seven straight on the road. This will be the sixth meeting between Kansas and Georgia Tech all-time. Betting wise they are 4-1.If you don’t think they can beat a spread just look at their last game against a decent Ohio team as they beat the 19 point spread.
Bottom Line: The Yellow Jackets are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Yellow Jackets are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Jayhawks are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 road games following three or more consecutive home games. The Jayhawks are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games. The Jayhawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. The Jayhawks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Jayhawks are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Tuesday games.
