The Golden State Warriors host the L.A. Lakers tonight, at Oracle Arena, for some NBA action. The last time these two teams met in L.A., the Lakers walked away the victor 123-113. The Golden State Warriors are the second highest scoring team in the NBA averaging 109 PPG. They lost a disappointing game to the Portland Trailblazers, 95-105, on the road after beating the S.A. Spurs 96-84. Against the Trailblazers, Baron Davis had 23pts, 11 assists and Matt Barnes had a great night with 15pts and 12 rebounds but it was not enough. The Warriors are offensive demons who are great from the field and at the 3-pointer. They’re the second best at pulling down offensive rebounds averaging 13 OREB. Their defense is where they let themselves down and if they can pull together as a team they could be one of the hottest teams in the league. They allow 106 PPG, the worst in the league, and they have troubles at defending in the paint. The main producer for the Warriors is Baron Davis with 22pts, 6 assists and he leads his team in steals. The Warriors are currently 6-5 at home and they sit in 3rd place in the Pacific Standings, one game behind the Lakers. The Warriors are (11-11 ATS, 12-10 O/U).

The L.A. Lakers are on a four game win streak after their most recent, 102-97 home win, over the S.A. Spurs. Kobe Bryant had 30pts, 7 REB and big man Lamar Odem had 15pts and 8 REB. The Lakers offense is motoring right along. They put up the fourth best amount of points averaging 106 PPG and they excel in the paint. Their 3-point shooting is ranked in the Top 10. Their defense has been stellar lately. They allow too many PPG but they can shut down opponent’s 3-point shooting (#3) and points from the field (#4). They also have the second best average for defensive rebounds pulling down an amazing 33 DREB. The top producer for the Lakers is Kobe Bryant who averages 27 PPG, 5 assist and he leads in steals. Andrew Bynum is their defensive hero with 10 REB and 2 blocks per game. The Lakers are currently 5-4 on the road and they sit in 2nd place in the Pacific Standings. The Lakers are (12-9 ATS, 11-10 O/U).

Bottom Line:   It’s back to back games for the Lakers after a tough grueling battle with the Spurs. They then had to fly into San Fran while the Warriors are already cozy in their beds. The Lakers will be worn out and tired. The Warriors have the advantage and they’ll put up huge points.

Orlando is playing great these days and surprisingly second in the Eastern Conference behind the Celtics. Despite the Bobcatws terrible ATs record of late the home team is 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings between the two teams and the Boobcats play the Magic tough which leads to a low scoring game. Emeka Okafor will be able to control the lane and keep Magic center Dwight Howard under control.
