The San Jose Sharks will host the Minnesota Wild tonight, at the Xcel Energy Center, for some hard hitting NHL action. The last time these two met up the Sharks shutout the Wild 3-0. The San Jose Sharks suffer their first loss in five games. They lost 1-7, at home, to the Buffalo Sabers. Before this loss the Sharks won all three road games. The Sharks are best known for their gritty hardnosed defense. They are ranked 3rd in goals against averaging 2.2 GA, thanks mostly to goalie Evgeni Nabokov. He’s currently 15-9-4 with a 2.03 GAA and he’s got 4 SHO. He’s the third best goalie in the league right now. The Sharks have the best penalty kill in the game and they allow the least amount of shots on net. The once power house offense has been struggling over their last ten games. They’ve averaged 2.5 GAG and their power play has been playing averagely. The point’s leader for the Sharks is Joe Thornton who has 34pts and Milan Michalek leads his team with 87 shots on net. Kyle McLaren and Jonathan Cheechoo may make their comebacks tonight if healthy. The Sharks are currently 4-6-2 at home and they sit in 2nd place in the Pacific Standings. The Sharks are (13-15 ATS, 9-16-3 O/U).

The Minnesota Wild has won six of their last ten games and most recently they beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, on the road, 2-1. Before this win they were beaten back to back by Detroit and Philadelphia, where they were outscored 1-8. The Wild are another team known for their grit on defense. They have the 11th best penalty kill in the league and they have the 8th best goals against average thanks to goalie Niklas Backstrom. He’s currently 13-5-1 with a 2.24 GAA along with 2 SHO. He’s won six of his last ten starts. Their offense is having some minor problems scoring goals. Their good for an average 2.5 GAG with the majority of their goals coming from their power play. The top producer for the Wild is Marian Gaborik with 23pts and Brian Rolston leads with 110 shots on net. The Wild are currently in 2nd place in the Northwest Standings and their 6-6-0-2 on the road. The Wild are (11-18 ATS, 10-12-7 O/U).

Bottom Line:  It’s going to be a low scoring game between two highly defensive teams. Not to mention two goalies who are doing very well.

Both these team are not very good. Seattle was expected this year but the Bulls are struggling out of the gates and are have a hard time scoring. The main problem for the Bulls this season is that they simply can’t shoot. The Bulls shot 36 percent in a 92-81 loss to Boston over the weekend. The Bulls have been held under 40 percent 11 times already this season and that already matches the total from last year. Their go to guy Ben Gordon has been shooting only 37.3 percent this season.

Bottom Line: The Under is 5-0 in the Super Sonics last 5 games as an underdog. The Under is 6-1 in the Super Sonics last 7 overall. The Under is 10-2 in the Bulls last 12 games as a favorite. The Over is 4-1-1 in the Bulls last 6 vs. the Northwest. The Under is 6-2 in the Bulls last 8 games as a home favorite.
