Two teams that are very familiar with each other meet on Friday
night as the Detroit Red Wings host the San Jose Sharks. Last season
it was Detroit defeating San Jose in the Western Conference semifinals.
The Sharks failed in their first attempt at revenge about a week
ago as they lost 4-2 to Detroit. SBG Global reports that early betting
has the public taking Red Wings at Home...
Two of the original six teams in the NHL resume their rivalry on
Monday night as the Montreal Canadiens host the Boston Bruins. The
Northeast Division is expected to be dominated by Ottawa this season
but that doesn’t mean the Bruins and Canadiens can’t
make the playoffs...
Colorado heads to Chicago on Friday to begin a four game road trip
against the Blackhawks. The Av’s have started well this season
led by veteran Joe Sakic and center Paul Statsny. If the name sounds
familiar, it is. Statsny’s father Peter played with Quebec,
New Jersey and St. Louis and scored 450 goals in his career. His
son is sure off to a good start. Last year Paul finished with 28
goals and 50 assists in his rookie season. This year he has five
goals, eight assists and 13 points in six games...

home versus the Predators, including 9-0-2 in the last 11 meetings...
The Atlanta Thrashers are the league’s only winless team
and will try and pick up their first victory at Philadelphia when
they face the Flyers on Tuesday night. Atlanta won a franchise-record
43 games last season and won the Southeast Division but has been
terrible so far this year. Atlanta is allowing 4.6 goals per game
and has been outscored 23-9. "It seems like every mistake the
puck ends up in the back of our net," coach Bob Hartley said...
The Atlanta Thrashers will look to get their first win of the season
as they host the undefeated Ottawa Senators on Wednesday. Ottawa
is getting great goaltending from backup Martin Gerber who is filling
in for the injured Ray Emery. Gerber has a 1.73 goals-against average
so far this season. Gerber is 14-0-2 with a 2.02 GAA in 16 appearances
since Dec. 23rd of last year. Gerber lost his job last season to
Emery and never got it back as Emery led the Senators to the Stanley
Cup Finals...
The Anaheim Ducks will try and win without Chris Pronger tonight
as they face the Ottawa Senators in Game #3 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
Pronger was suspended for tonight’s game because of a forearm
he gave to the head of Dean McAmmond that knocked out the Senators
forward. Pronger is one of the best defenseman in hockey and his
loss is a key one. Pronger was suspended in the Western Conference
Finals against Detroit but the Ducks beat Detroit with Pronger out
...
The Ottawa Senators will look to close out the Pittsburgh Penguins
tonight at home in Game #5 of their best of seven series. The Senators
lead the series 3-1 after winning the last two games in Pittsburgh.
The Senators are getting great play from many players including
Mike Comrie. "He's one of the smaller guys in the league but
he goes out and plays like (6-foot-9) Zdeno Chara. It's unbelievable,"
Ottawa winger Chris Neil said...
