NFL Betting Preview

Miami Dolphins (0-10) at Pittsburgh Steelers (7-3)
Monday, 8:30 pm Eastern – ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: Steelers  -15 , Total 39

The Miami Dolphins will try and get their first win of the season as the travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. Miami is trying to avoid the dubious distinction of going 0-16 but probably won’t break the streak tonight at Pittsburgh where they are a 16 point underdog. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Steelers at Home.

Pittsburgh is coming off a surprising loss last week to the New York Jets, losing in overtime 19-16. The Jets couldn’t do much right last week against New York, rushing for only 112 yards and allowing quarterback Ben Roethlisberger to be sacked 7 times. "We've got to come out and play Steelers football," said Roethlisberger, "I don't feel we did that (in New York). They were probably the more physical team. I think it showed."  The Steelers will probably be without wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who leads the team in receptions, yards and touchdowns.  They may also be without safety Troy Polamalu who is also listed as doubtful.  The Steelers' defense is the league leader in points allowed (14.5) and yards per game (236.2).

Miami may be the perfect tonic for the Steelers considering they have done nothing all year.  The Dolphins' defense has allowed a league-worst 154.9 rushing yards per game, and has given up an average of 27.4 points per game.  The Miami offense has not been much better.  The Dolphins have turned over the starting quarterback job to rookie John Beck.  He was 9-for-22 for 109 yards in his debut against the Eagles.

SBG Global Current Line: Steelers  -15.5 (-115) , Total 38.5
