Baltimore Ravens (4-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2)
Monday, 8:30 pm Eastern – ESPN
SBG Global Opening
Line: Steelers -7.5 , Total 37
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be looking for revenge as they host
the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. Last year the Steelers
lost twice to the Ravens and ended up losing the division to Baltimore.
This year the Steelers hold a one game lead over Baltimore and a
win on Monday would make it very difficult on the Ravens. Pittsburgh
is unbeaten at home this season and has not lost a Monday night
game at home in more than 16 years. SBG
Global reports that early NFL betting has the public
taking Steelers at Home.
Last year the Ravens won the AFC Central and went 13-3. This year
they have already lost three games and a loss on Monday would drop
them to .500. Last year the Ravens had success against the Steelers
winning 27-0 and 31-7. They held Pittsburgh quarterback Ben Roethlisberger
in check and dominated running back Willie Parker. "You know
how you felt afterward," Roethlisberger said. "You got
embarrassed twice, once here, once there. It's not a good thing.
It leaves a taste in your mouth. They roughed us up, a lot. We need
another all-around performance like we had (last Sunday), in all
phases of the game.” Last week Pittsburgh defeated Cincinnati
24-13. Roethlisberger is playing better this season as he has 15
touchdowns with only six interceptions. "I think offensively
we're playing well," Roethlisberger said. "I think the
key is if we can keep doing that, just trying to get better. We
need to keep improving and keep working on trying to be a good football
team. I think we have the potential to be great, but we've got a
ways to go."
Baltimore has lost their last three Monday Night road games. The
Ravens have the second best defense in the league allowing 268 yards
per game. The Steelers are first at 256.9 yards per game. The Ravens
were off last week after losing the previous week to Buffalo 19-14.
The bye week helped Baltimore as they get a lot of injured players
back. Quarterback Steve McNair, center Mike Flynn, offensive tackle
Adam Terry, defensive end Trevor Pryce and cornerback Chris McAlister
are expected back tonight. The Ravens have won their last five games
following their bye week.
