NBA Playoff Preview – Game #2
Golden State Warriors at Utah Jazz (Utah Leads 1-0)

Wednesday, 9:05 pm Eastern
TNT
SBG Global Opening Line: Jazz -3.5, Total 213.5

The Utah Jazz won a very entertaining high-scoring opener from the Golden State Warriors to take the early lead in their best of seven game series. Now the Jazz will try and take a two games to none lead on Wednesday night in game two. SBG Global reports that most early money is taking Utah laying the points.

It is the first time since 2001 that Utah has started a series with a win. The Jazz won the opener even though they were playing at Golden State’s high flying pace. The 116-112 final is not where the Jazz want the score to be. It was the most points Utah has scored in the playoffs since 1999.

Utah will try and slow the game down on Wednesday night. Both teams were firing shots at will. The Jazz took 23 3-pointers while the Rockets put up 31 attempts. "It looked like we wanted to shoot as many as they did. Some of them got us in trouble," Utah head coach Jerry Sloan said. "You'd better make those. We have no chance to recover defensively. That's where the problem comes in for us."

The Utah Jazz are 3.5 point favorites with a total of 213 at SBG Global.

Utah knows better than to become overconfident in this series against a team like Golden State that can score almost at will. The Jazz know this series is not over. "It really doesn't mean anything, I'll tell you that," Sloan said. "The first team who gets four, that's what counts." 2001 was the last time Utah opened with a win and the Jazz ended up losing to Dallas in a best of five series.

Golden State will try and run and gun again in Game 2 and hope to improve on their rebounding disaster where the Jazz had a 54-36 advantage and won the game. "We know what we have to do in Game 2 to win the basketball game, and that's stay close and correct some of the small details that we didn't adjust to in Game 1," Golden State's Baron Davis said.

"We did have a chance to win that game. We were right there at the end," coach Don Nelson. "I don't want to overreact on anything, but there are certain obvious things that we have to do a better job on."

A key matchup in this series is Baron Davis against Utah point guard Deron Williams and the first round went to Williams. He had 31 points and eight assists. "He played big. He won the game for them yesterday," Golden State's Jason Richardson said. "We can't let him have big games like that where he's scoring and dishing the ball out."

Game two is a key one for Utah because if Golden State is able to win they would snatch away home court advantage.
