NBA Basketball - Phoenix Suns (53-17) at Golden State Warriors
(33-39)
10:35 pm Eastern
TNT
Opening Line:
Suns – 4, Total 226.5
The Golden State Warriors look to avoid a third straight loss against
one of the West's top teams as they host the Phoenix Suns tonight.
Golden State is trying to stay in the playoff race but is struggling
of late. They lost 126-89 to San Antonio on Monday. "We had
nothing in the tank," said Warriors coach Don Nelson. “We
have been able to find some juice at home, but not tonight."
SBG
Global
reports that the gambling public doesn’t feel the Warriors
will have enough juice for tonight either, with most early money
on the Suns laying the points.
The Warriors haven’t made the playoffs since the 1993-94
season. After Phoenix tonight, Golden State still has games with
Houston, San Antonio, Utah and Dallas, so it does not look good
for the Warriors.
The Suns have the second best record in the West but have virtually
no chance of catching Dallas and must worry about holding off the
third-place Spurs. Phoenix beat Memphis 105-87 on Monday for its
third win in four games. "We did the job. We weren't great
but we won," Suns guard Steve Nash said. "Any time you
win by 20 points it's hard to really complain. So I think we took
care of our end of the deal." Amare Stoudemire had 27 points
and 12 rebounds.
The
Phoenix Suns are 4 point favorites with a total of 226.5 at SBG
Global.
"Everybody seems down, the whole building seems flat, we're
flat," head coach Mike D'Antoni said. "That's what we
are right now. If we are like that when Dallas comes into town we're
in trouble. But I think this is going to pass quickly and we'll
be fine."
Phoenix averages an NBA-best 110.1 points per game and is averaging
115.3 in three wins over Golden State this season. They are trying
to sweep the season series from Golden State for the first time
since 2001-02.
