NBA All-Star Game
Sunday, 8:00 pm Eastern
TNT
SBG Global Opening
Line: West – 3.5
The best players in the NBA get together on Sunday night in Las
Vegas for what should be another high scoring affair. LeBron James
led all players in votes this year with over 2.5 million. That was
the second highest vote total ever behind only Yao Ming in 2005.
Yao finished just behind James this year in votes with over 2.4
million. Reports from SBG
Global are starting to show that just like last year,
the gambling public will be on the West.
Last year James was the MVP of the All-Star game pouring in 29
points as the East came from 21 down to win 122-120. Dwyane Wade
hit the winning shot with 16 seconds left last year. Tracy McGrady
had 36 points to lead the West.
The
West is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 255.5 at SBG Global.
This year’s game could be high scoring once again. The West
has the league’s leading scorer in Carmelo Anthony who is
averaging over 30 points per game while the East has the high scoring
duo of Gilbert Arenas and Dwyane Wade. They are both averaging almost
29 points per game. If you include Dirk Nowitzki from the West and
Kobe Bryant from the West, you have a lot of firepower and that
doesn’t even include Tracy McGrady who was the high scorer
in last year’s game.
The game will be missing some stars however who are out due to
injury. Yao Ming has been out for a while and will not play. Steve
Nash is nursing an injury and will not play. Two top guards will
also not play. Allen Iverson and Jason Kidd are both out of the
game and Carlos Boozer will also not play.
The East has won the last two games and both have gone under the
total. Last year was a two point East win while the 2005 game also
went to the East by a score of 125-115. The West had won the previous
three years with each of those games clearing the 250 point mark.
