Los Angeles Clippers (39-41) at Phoenix Suns (61-19)

The Los Angeles Clippers need to win their next two games to make
the playoffs and have Golden State lose one of their remaining two
games. Neither of those things seems too likely. The Clippers will
have to win in Phoenix tonight against a Suns team that normally
dominates them. They will also have to hope the Warriors lose tonight
against Dallas or tomorrow against Portland. What damaged the Clippers’
playoff hopes was a loss at home against Sacramento in a game they
had to win. SBG
Global reports that early betting has the public all
over the Suns at home laying the points.
Playing in front of their 13th sellout crowd of the season, the
Clippers were terrible in the first half against the last-place
team in the Pacific Division and fell behind by 23 points to the
Kings midway through the second quarter before making it close at
the end of the game. “I am real disappointed with the way
we played in the first quarter,” Elton Brand said. “Some
guys made the effort, and other guys didn’t. I am shocked
because our guys didn’t come out and play hard. We knew what
the task was at hand but we just didn’t deliver. We definitely
need help [to make the playoffs], but it doesn’t look like
we are going to get any help.”
The
Phoenix Suns are 4 point favorites with a total 209.5 of at SBG
Global.
Clippers head coach Mike Dunleavy was not optimistic about their
playoff chances. “We will watch our film. We will see who
the guys are that missed box outs, who the guys are that missed
plays, made bad plays and we will try and learn from it. Now we
are relying on someone else to help us get in. We have two games
to play, we need to get wins there and we need to get some help.”
I am hopeful that Dallas plays a great game and gets a win. I hope
they are at full strength. I am not the one pulling the trigger
on that.”
The Clippers end the regular season with a home game against New
Orleans tomorrow.
