time and will be televised by FOX. This is the fifth straight All-Star

Cole Hamels, Trevor Hoffman, Jake Peavy, Takashi Saito, Brad Penny,
Ben Sheets, John Smoltz, Jose Valverde and Billy Wagner. National
League reserves are catcher Brian McCann, first basemen Derrek Lee,
Albert Pujols and Dmitri Young, second basemen Orlando Hudson and
Freddy Sanchez, SS J.J. Hardy, 3B Miguel Cabrera, OF’s Matt
Holliday, Carlos Lee, Aaron Rowand and Alfonso Soriano.
Three of the last four All-Star Games have had a lot of runs. In
2003 there were 13 runs scored, 13 in 2004, and 12 in 2005, while
last year there were only five runs scored. The American League
is favored to win the All-Star Game again this season even though
the game is in a National League park.
Roy Oswalt replaces John Smoltz who is injured on the National
League team. The two players voted on in the Final Vote were added
on Thursday. They are pitcher Chris Young of the Padres for the
National League and Boston relief pitcher Hideki Okajima for the
American League.
