after undergoing cancer treatment and has pitched well in his minor
league rehab starts. "I don't think it really has sunken in
yet," Lester said "and I don't think it will sink in until
tomorrow when I get on the mound...
The Seattle Mariners are surprisingly in the middle of a pennant
race late in July as they trail the Angels by just two games in
the National League West. They head out on the road on Friday to
Toronto for a weekend series against the Toronto Blue Jays. Seattle
has not been quite as good since Mike Hargrove announced his retirement
but they have stayed in the race. With new manager John McLaren,
