Dallas Mavericks (35-8) at Chicago Bulls (24-19)
8:00 pm Eastern
TNT
SBG Global Opening Line: Mavericks - 5

The Dallas Mavericks go for their ninth straight win tonight and 22nd in 23 games when they take on the Bulls in Chicago. Dallas has the NBA’s best record and they own the Bulls. The Mavericks have won 16 of 17 meetings with the Bulls since March 12, 1998. That was when the Bulls had Michael Jordan. Dallas has since won all seven of its visits to the United Center and SBG Global reports that the gambling public is all over this game taking Dallas laying the points.

"We just feel all of the players that we have are hungry in general," Dallas coach Avery Johnson said. "Everybody early in the season likes to talk about other teams being hungry to win, but they failed to mention us. We are a hungry team, we are a focused team and we are just taking it one game at a time." "We're about as hungry as it gets," Mavericks forward Dirk Nowitzki said. "We were so close last year. It was a very, very disappointing loss at the end. But more than anything, it's motivation for us to work even harder this year." Nowitzki had 33 points and 10 rebounds in the Mavericks' 111-95 win at Orlando on Tuesday. Josh Howard added 25 points, and is averaging 26.8 over the last four games.

Dallas is a 4.5 point favorite with a total of 190.5 at SBG Global.

Chicago is coming off a 94-86 win over Atlanta. Luol Deng led six Bulls in double figures with 18 points. It was not a very good effort for the Bulls against the Hawks. "We're talking about it," Bulls forward P.J. Brown said. "We know that's not going to get it done. There is no way we're going to get away with playing that type of basketball on that trip, so we tried to tighten up and play consistent and get a lot better." The Bulls were 14-3 in December, but they are 5-7 in January and they are only 4-4 home of late.

"Every game is important for us right now, especially in this building," Chicago's Ben Wallace said. "We have to force teams to come in here and work extremely hard to beat us."

The Mavericks are 22-9-2 ATS in their last 33 road games. The Mavericks are 9-4-2 ATS in their last 15 games as a road favorite. The Mavericks are 1-6-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. the Central. The Mavericks are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Chicago. The road team is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings between the two teams.

The Bulls are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games as a home underdog.

The Over is 4-1-1 in the Mavericks last 6 overall. The Over is 10-4 in the Mavericks last 14 Thursday games. The Over is 43-20 in the Mavericks last 63 vs. the Central. The Under is 5-1 in the Bulls last 6 home games. The Over is 18-6-1 in the Bulls last 25 vs. the Southwest.
