New Jersey Nets (22-24) at Orlando Magic (24-22)

8:00 pm Eastern
ESPN
SBG Global Opening Line: Orlando Magic – 2.5

The New Jersey Nets will try and continue their recent dominance against the Magic as the teams meet tonight in Orlando. The Nets have won four straight against the Magic including a 101-94 victory on January 20th. According to SBG Global, early betting has the gambling public riding the New Jersey wave into Orlando taking the Nets plus the points.

Dwight Howard was held to a career low one point in that loss a couple of weeks ago. Howard struggled again Wednesday, managing only six points and seven rebounds but it didn’t matter as the Magic beat Milwaukee 98-73. That was only the 2nd time this season Orlando has won without Howard reaching double figures in either points or rebounding. Howard still ranks third in the league in rebounding at 12.1 per game. "I think he might be a little tired," Magic coach Brian Hill said. "He's played a lot of basketball. It's a legitimate concern. Sometimes, though, when you're going through a tough stretch, you think yourself tired a little bit. It's something we will keep an eye on."

Orlando is a 3.5 point favorite with a total of 186.5 at SBG Global.

New Jersey is coming off a 113-89 whipping at the hands of the Detroit Pistons. "We just had a bad night," Jason Kidd said. "It happens. In 82 games you're going to (hope) that it's just one that you have and tonight was the one coming back from the West Coast trip. It doesn't erase anything. The game was on the schedule. Whether we lost to Detroit by two or however many, it's a loss and you move on." Vince Carter had just 11 points in the loss. Carter had been averaging over 34 points per game in his previous three games.

Carter has averaged 28 points in the last three games against Orlando while Kidd has averaged 17.2 points, 9.2 assists and 8.0 rebounds.
